Our Basement "Apartment"

The contractor set up a temporary stove top and we used the laundry room sink for dishes.   It's low and it was a bear standing at it.  Even with the temporary setup, we still ate at the taco truck more often than I care to admit.

The plastic billowing on the ceiling was to keep dust and debris from falling everywhere while the hardwood floors were being redone above us.

It wasn't the most comfortable, but at least we didn't have to move out while all this was being done.

Pièce de Résistance

The house that got demolished contained a Wedgewood stove, almost identical to the one we have.  The biggest differences are that it has two ovens and a griddle.

As much as I LOVE our existing stove, two ovens is hard to resist -- especially around the holidays, so we decided to get this refurbished for when we redo the kitchen.

To get it out of the house, the demolition crew had to rip out a wall because it wouldn't fit through the door.  Then they used the bobcat to bring it down the street.  Best delivery service in town!

Now We're Cooking!

We bought a period appropriate stove from friends who are in the process of turning a Victorian duplex back into a single family home.

It has two funky burner covers our friend jokingly c
alled "tortilla warmers." Yesterday I made burritos and heated the tortillas. The warmers worked perfectly, getting the tortillas evenly toasted. Even Rob noticed the difference!
