Devil Grass

 I HATE Bermuda grass.

It grows straight out of the concrete and it seems like nothing kills it.

I've been reluctant to use anything too toxic, so I'm trying something I found online:  a mix of salt and vinegar, plus a dash of oil so that it sticks to the blades.  I spray it on early in the morning so the sun has all day to fry it.

I'm starting to see the slightest hints of progress...

Salt of the Earth

We thought we had mold in the basement, but it's efflorescence -- salt crystals accumulating from water evaporating.

While that's probably better than mold, we still need to figure out what's causing it.

All those delays last summer with the plumber and engineer have paid off...if not for that, this problem would be buried in a wall somewhere only to be found when much damage had been done.
