This is our medicine cabinet, yet to be installed. It will have a mirror on front. The casings and moldings are douglas fir and the same style as the original mill work in the house -- hopefully a seamless blend of old and new.
It's pretty big, so it should give plenty of storage!

Climbing the Walls
The majority of wall space will be covered in a light, sage green tile. It looks white in these photos, but it's not.
The tub will go directly under the window and that nook, on the wall just to the left of the window, will have shelves in it for soap, shampoo, etc.

Getting Warmer...
Floor tile is in. We chose a classic, white octagon shape. Perfect for a 1909 bungalow.
There is radiant heat embedded in the floor, so no cold feed in the morning.

Another Nook In the Wall
You can see two knotholes from the plywood that was used for the forms when the concrete was poured. They look like eyes to me.

Towel Rack
In a flash of inspiration, we decided to recess the towel rack. It adds a precious few inches to a small bathroom and creates a very sleek look.
The bar itself is from the shower set that got stolen. The thief foolishly left this part behind.
We are recessing a couple of other elements as well. Stay tuned for details!

A Pot to Piss In
I don't even want to say how long we spent looking at toilets, only to buy pretty much the first one we had considered. It's got a sink above the tank so that the tank fills when you wash your hands, etc.
We discovered the sink was cracked when we took it out of the box. We don't know if it happened in shipping or when the basement got robbed.
Sigh. It looks like we'll be buying a lot things twice...

Erosion...the Good Kind
We really like this sink for our downstairs bathroom. It's a custom order, so kind of pricey, and it might be a bitch to clean...

Backed Up
Our approved plans clearly show a bathroom, so now our contractor has to get the stamped, final plans from the engineer and pay a visit to the Department of Building and Safety.
I'm not fond of the plumber, so something tells me this is somehow his fault.
